As you’d expect from Mec Yek, their most recent album SuperDiverCity contains some musical surprises: the band travels back to its nostalgic roots, from the early years with the Roma in Slovakia, to more contemporary and urban dub, ska, latin and soul. Some songs show minimal orchestration, other pull out all the stops. But, against all expectations: Mec Yek is a gypsy band without violin.Read more
With Ik en den Theo / Moi et le Théo 2.0, one can (re-)look at the world through the eyes of children. Choux de Bruxelles presents YANA,
a short film by Sarah Baur
Pauline is a monologue (in Dutch) based on the story of a refugee who arrived in Brussels after a very long and trying journey.

Pauline and Sarah then collaborated on the creation of paper cut stop motion films to accompany the monologue.
This resulted in a performance of half an hour: a good starting point for discussions, debates or interactive lectures.
Originally Dutch spoken, but later in 2020 there will also be a version...Read more

Before arriving in Brussels, Théophane Raballand followed a graphic education at the Beaux-Arts in Paris. After a couple of years as a musician in Brussels he picked up his visual work and, besides music, he started dedicating himself to photography. In this way he made pictures for the Jaune Toujours albums Brusk, Camping del Mundo, Barricade and Routes, that was presented as a little booklet, like an art portfolio. Their latest album Europeana took this idea even further and was released as a vinyl sized (33x33cm) photobook...Read more
