"in my garden stood a beautiful red rose
a girl came to steal it
the boys play music
the girls sing
hey! girl with the beautiful black hair
come and dance with me"
Day 14 of the Covid19 quarantine: "Mooi Weer" by Jaune Toujours, performed by Piet Maris.
Partially about war in former Yugoslavia, end of the '90's, but especially about the contrast between the different situation at some 1000s of kilometers distance: the same beautiful spring weather under the same blue sky, but within a totally different peace/war situation... And not a minor detail, with the frontiers and checkpoints completely closed, leaving people on their own, in unacceptable conditions... Nothing's changed: war's still going on somewhere, and even if ours is mainly against a virus, people are still stuck at borders ànd outside, on the streets, in unacceptable conditions...
From the album Barricade (2004) by Jaune Toujours

Njord Puffin by 3'Ain
Contemporary Jazz with an Oriental Twist
We were planning an avant-premiere of our first EP at the now postponed Choux-Fest on April 4th.
Since that’s no longer possible, we decided to give you a sneak peak online.
This is the iPhone recording of the run-through at Wildernis Strmbk before actually recording. Unmixed, unmastered and unedited.
Keeping it real.
We like to name our songs after things we see while creating them.
When rehearsing in Oostende, where Yamen lives, what we see is mostly boats.
The title ‘Njord Puffin’ is the name of one of those boats.
We weren’t planning on making this recording public, but these special times call for especially positive vibes.
Did you know scientists have discovered that music can play an important part in generating hope?
So there you go.
Enjoy, relax and generate hope.
Tell us how you like it on our Facebook page!
Day 8 of the Covid19 quarantine:
"Bakmes fran Kall" a Swedish slow polka, performed by Piet Maris.
Piet and his brothers Jan and Wim performed this at Tante Wiesje's funeral earlier today, as they did 13 years ago at the funeral of their mother, Chris, Wiesje's sister.
